Marianne Mitchell Teaches Integrative Thinking Skills through Making Abstract Art

Uploaded by on Feb 20, 2012
The celebrated painter Marianne Mitchell can teach integrative thinking skills through the practice of making abstract art. While reading about innovation in the Harvard Business Review, she realized that, in her art, she utilizes the same patterns of intuition and analysis that modern business people employ in problem solving.

She developed a highly successful course to help train business and medical professionals to develop these skills. This film gives a little background into her teaching and shows why her course at Drexel University College of Medicine has become a perennial favorite among medical students.
